Experts have already warned parents that children should still be guided in using the different social media platforms since no one can really tolerate what contents people are posting. One of these content is the viral video of the Jollibee mascot dancing to Bruno Mars’ hit song “Versace on the Floor”.
The said song has been a hit all over the world due to its catchy tune despite its explicit content. Most parents have raised their brows at the meaning of the song yet it has caught the earbuds of the youngsters, especially the teenagers.
With that, a viral video of a mascot of the largest homegrown fast-food chain in the Philippines has reached millions of views as it danced to Versace on the Floor. See video here.
24 hours has not passed yet but the fast-food giant already released its statement regarding the viral video.
“Jollibee would like to apologize to the public, especially to our young fans, who may have been disappointed or offended with the said dance video of our mascot that was uploaded in social media,” Adeva said.
Since the song isn’t really made for young kids to hear, many have been sharing their negative comments and saying that Jollibee should have remained “wholesome”.
“We would like to clarify that the performance is a deviation from the standard mascot and party guidelines — be it for Jollibee Kids Party or internal events,” she said.
What do you think? Should the person behind the mascot be punished?
